The Government of Nepal has declared 45 people who lost their lives during the Gen-Z movement as martyrs.
Gen-Z protesters had taken to the streets on Bhadra 23 and 24, raising demands related to national interest, good governance, and the control of corruption.

Government spokesperson and Minister for Communications Jagadish Kharel stated that a decision has been made to officially recognize as martyrs the 45 individuals who died during the protests in Kathmandu and other parts of the country.
“Based on studies conducted by the committee under the Ministry of Home Affairs, other security agencies, and district administration offices, 45 individuals have been declared martyrs,” he said.
